9. QB Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers

Week 6- Oct. 15

Maybe Garoppolo benefits from Kyle Shanahan’s system but the guy can still win games as an NFL starter. In five starts last season, he went 5-0 and threw for 1,560 yards and seven touchdowns, all while completing 67 percent of his passes.

Garoppolo will be getting wide receiver Pierre Garcon back who has had success against Green Bay in the past. In the 2016 game vs Washington, Garcon caught six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers quarterback will have other options to throw to including Marquise Goodwin and rookie Dante Pettis.

Shanahan’s offense focuses on short passes with limited risks giving Garoppolo a chance to produce big numbers. The Packers will need to avoid letting Garoppolo get comfortable in the pocket or he may pick them apart.
