9. Brigham Young Cougars
Finally getting back to that weak non-conference schedule we talked so much about is BYU at No. 9. When Wisconsin originally scheduled this game, BYU was at the height of their powers and the Badgers thought they’d be getting a formidable opponent. Unfortunately, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
The Cougars are coming off a 4-9 season and are just 13-13 under head coach Kalani Sitake. They should see about the same success this season as last.
Traditionally, BYU has been a good passing offense, but that wasn’t true last season. They struggled mightily in that area and will be looking to rebound this year. The good news is running back Squally Canada had a good end to the season and should be able to carry that momentum into 2018.
The defense will be pretty good and might give Wisconsin a bit of trouble. The two teams face each other on Sep. 15 at Camp Randall and it should result in a victory for the Badgers.
