Center: Thon Maker

The center position is very much up in the air for the beginning of the 2018-19 season. John Henson was the team’s primary starter last season, as Thon Maker went through a sophomore slump. Even though Maker improved his play in the playoffs, his second season was mostly lost.

However, Maker should be able to use that as motivation moving forward and get into the gym to improve some things. His outside shot can be a huge weapon and Maker needs to hone it in. That gives him a unique tool to bring to the Bucks and helps them space the floor for the other playmakers on their team.

He also needs to hit the weight room, as he gets pushed around down low far too often. Even though he’s incredibly tall and long, his lack of muscle allows just about anyone to box him out and force him away from the basket where he’s unable to use his length.

If Maker can get those two aspects of his game under control and improved in 2018, he should be able to take a nice leap forward into the starting lineup. Besides, Henson has struggles of his own to overcome.
