5. Mike Daniels

Mike Daniels is poised for a great season especially given all the talent around him. Perhaps, for the first time in his career, he’ll have two equally talented players lining up on the defensive line with him in Kenny Clark and Muhammad Wilkerson.

Clark and Wilkerson themselves are out to prove a point to the NFL, but their talent will make things easier for Daniels. For years, he was the only player who could hold his own on the line and that led to a lot of attention from opposing teams. With this lack of attention in 2018, he should be able to wreak havoc in a way we haven’t seen before.

He’s also 29-years-old and is in the last of his prime years. However, he did post five sacks last season which is the third-most in his career. Even though sacks aren’t always an accurate assessment of how well a 3-4 defensive lineman played, it gives us a good baseline of what to expect. Look for that number to jump considerably in 2018 in Mike Pettine’s scheme.
