2. Byran Bulaga

Bryan Bulaga has held down the right tackle position down since helping the Packers win the Super Bowl in 2010-11. When healthy he has been a very reliable lineman.

However, health is just the issue.

At 29-years-old and two ACL surgeries later, Bulaga’s health has been a question. It’s not his abilities that he has to prove this season. He needs to prove that he can remain healthy and reliable while keeping Rodgers protected.

Only twice has Bulaga played all 16 games in his career. His five games played this season were the fewest since he missed the entire 2013 season with a torn ACL.

Health has always been a concern for Bulaga. With Rodgers coming back off of injury, Bulaga’s job becomes even more important. He needs to remain healthy while keeping his all-pro quarterback healthy.

Now, it has been reported that Bulaga won’t be ready for training camp. It’s also possible that he won’t be ready for the start of the season. It could be a good thing to give the big man as much time as he needs. However, his injuries can’t be a recurring happening.

If Bulaga can’t remain on the field while being productive the Packers will be at a crossroad. They have names like Jason Spriggs, Byron Bell and Kyle Murphy ready to take his spot. Again, football is all about competition. If Bulaga can’t stay healthy and one of his backups come and take his spot, that’d be a shame but necessary. The Packers need consistency on the line.

For Bulaga, he needs to prove he can stay healthy and productive upon return.
