For: Throw up the lob

The lob is a very simple, yet underrated weapon in the NBA. We’ve seen guys like DeAndre Jordan and Clint Capela thrive off the lob and make careers out of it. Howard could also be placed in that category.

Especially with the pick-and-roll dominating the sets, the lob is a critical weapon to get your team easy buckets. Imagine an Antetokounmpo-Howard pick-and-roll where Antetokounmpo turns the corner off the ball screen and throws the ball up high for Howard to throw down.

The lob is also a great tool to use for a player who can’t space the floor. Typically, the center would sit in the weakside short corner. Then, when a player like Antetokounmpo drives to the hoop, Howard’s man has to decide whether or not he should help. If he doesn’t step up, Antetokounmpo gets a dunk. If he does step up, the Greek freak blows the play up by passing the ball over the top of the defense for a Howard alley-oop. It’s a simple game.
