The offensive line is a very underrated but crucial part of any teams success. Let’s rank them from worst to first in the NFC North.

One of the NFC Norths biggest collective weakness comes along the offensive line. No team in the division can accurately say they have a top 10 offensive line in the NFL. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t talented individuals in the division. Unfortunately, the units as a whole just aren’t up to par with those in other divisions.

Most people around the league value lineman on both sides of the ball. However, sometimes it’s difficult to use a high pick or spend a lot of money on a free agent when it’s difficult to measure a certain player’s impact.

Still, we continue our rankings of the NFC North on Dairyland Express. So far, we’ve ranked the overall teams, quarterbacks, running backs and pass-catchers. Now, we move into the trenches. During each ranking, we’ve been handing out points depending on how each team finishes in the rankings. The fourth place team gets one point, third place gets two points, second place gets three and first place gets four points. Here’s what the rankings look like so far:

  1. Green Bay Packers (12 points)
  2. Minnesota Vikings (12 points)
  3. Detroit Lions (nine points)
  4. Chicago Bears (seven points)

The reigning division champs, the Vikings, got off to a somewhat slow start, but have now tied the Packers at the top of the rankings. Meanwhile, the Bears are falling further behind the other teams on the list and desperately need a pick-me-up. Let’s see what happens in the offensive line rankings…
