With the 2018 NBA Draft nearly upon us, it’s time to get a little funky. Let’s make five bold predictions around the Milwaukee Bucks and the draft.

The Milwaukee Bucks need to make a big splash in this year’s 2018 NBA Draft in order to catapult themselves into the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference. As it stands today, they sit squarely in the playoffs, but management isn’t merely satisfied with playoff appearances anymore.

Nor should they be. The Bucks have one of the best players in franchise history and all of the NBA in Giannis Antetokounmpo. They also have a legit and very underrated star in Khris Middleton. Behind those two, it gets a bit dicier, but they still have some nice pieces in place.

Eric Bledsoe is above-average to good at the point guard position and Malcolm Brogdon is another piece they can build around. At their best, Tony Snell, Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker are also contributors.

Of course, there’s the pending restricted free agency of Jabari Parker looming over the Bucks head as well. Depending on what happens there, Milwaukee could have their future all wrapped up.

However, they still need a couple more contributors to add to their roster. That’s where the draft comes in. Milwaukee has struggled in the first round in recent years by missing on picks such as Rashad Vaughn and possibly D.J. Wilson. Maker might enter that category as well. With that in mind, here are five bold predictions for Thursday night’s draft.
