Green Bay Packers: Five takeaways from mandatory minicamp

4. Kentrell Brice has shown out this offseason
Kentrell Brice hasn’t had just a great minicamp – he’s had a great offseason. The third-year player’s 2017 season was cut short due to an ankle injury, but he looked to be a solid role player before that.
Brice enters 2018 as one of the favorites to back up Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Josh Jones. Perhaps he may even be on the field for a significant part of games due to Jones’ versatility as a hybrid linebacker.
Zach Kruse of the Packers Wire wrote, “The Packers expect a big jump from Kentrell Brice”. Mike McCarthy was vocal about his praises for Brice, saying:
"“I think he’s definitely had one of the best offseason programs (on the team). The thing that goes unnoticed is his communication skills…he’s really comfortable out there, with the adjustments and the communications.”"
The Packers will be counting on Brice to have a stellar season in 2018. To this point in time, Marwin Evans and Jermaine Whitehead just can’t be counted on.
