2. Eye for an eye

With neither Ha Ha Clinton-Dix nor Earl Thomas showing up for their team’s OTAs, this is a logical trade for both teams. Swapping Clinton-Dix and a 2019 fourth-round pick for Thomas would make complete sense. Both players have shown the intent of not being 100 percent in the future of their team’s plans in important times. Clinton-Dix and Thomas could both use a change of scenery.

Seattle would be getting a safety in Clinton-Dix that has a lot of potential left with a high ceiling. He looked as if he took a small step back last year in his play. Mostly it was Dom Capers losing faith from his players in his defensive layout. Clinton-Dix has shown his ability to sniff out run plays and end them as they are just beginning. His pass coverage has improved and even though it looks like it faltered.

Clinton-Dix would be a fresh start for John Schneider who is cleaning house with anyone with a high contract or anyone who would want a high contract. Thomas is one of those players who would want a high contract. There is a possibility Schneider would trade for someone like Clinton-Dix who wouldn’t garner as much per year against the cap space.

On a scale of 1 to 10, what is the possibility of this trade happening? I give this a trade a four because the Packers seem to back Clinton-Dix wanting to stay, but then again Jordy Nelson wanted to stay as well.
