Sam Dekker is one of the highest rated recruits to come to the University of Wisconsin and was an integral part of their back to back Final Four appearances. He probably could’ve gone pro any time after his freshman season, but completed three seasons at Wisconsin.
He was then drafted by the Houston Rockets with the 18th overall pick in 2015. Dekker spent his first two seasons in Houston before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers last summer as part of the Chris Paul deal.
He has some potential to become a nice role player in the NBA, but has had an underwhelming first three seasons. His rookie season was basically a redshirt year, as he only played in three games for the Rockets.
However, he has appeared in 150 games over the last two years, as he’s trying to prove his worth in this league. Even though he’s struggled, he still has a lot of time to turn things around at 24-years-old. Hopefully, he can get back on track and find his groove in the NBA.
