2. Gain Financial Flexibility

Per Spotrac, the Bucks have the 19th most cap-space this offseason. The majority of their issue is due to several bad contracts in recent years, along with a large amount of dead cap space. One possibility the team could explore is finding a salary cap dump trade.

Although they may have to sacrifice their first-round pick to do so, they could bring back an immediate contributor on an affordable deal. Teams such as Orlando, Atlanta and Memphis could all use an extra pick, while getting rid of players that will add wins to next year’s total.

Players, such as Dewayne Dedmon, Ben McLemore and Johnathon Simmons would all be cheaper options, while also upgrading the team as a whole. After a few crazy spending years around the NBA, most teams are scrambling to create additional cap flexibility and the Bucks are no exception.
