Green Bay Packers: 20 greatest players since 2010
By Joe Kipp
7. Tramon Williams, Cornerback
The next player on the list is another undrafted cornerback. Entering his second stint with Green Bay, Tramon Williams had a respectable eight seasons in his first ride with the team. He was one of the most important players on defense during the 2010 Super Bowl run, intercepting three passes and breaking up four others.
Williams’ time with Green Bay came to an end in 2014. He signed with the Cleveland Browns, where he played under head coach Mike Pettine – the Packers’ current defensive coordinator.
Williams also played for the Arizona Cardinals last season. He graded out as one of Pro Football Focus’ best cornerbacks with a grade of 88.8, good enough for 9th overall.
The Packers re-signed Williams this offseason after seeing what he’s still capable of. At 35-years-old Williams looks to have plenty left in the tank. That being said, the Packers won’t need to rely on him as much as they used to. Based on his previous body of work, Williams deserves his No. 7 ranking.
