James Looney, Defensive Lineman

In the seventh round, the Green Bay Packers selected James Looney adding depth to an already stacked defensive line.

He lacks the pass rushing ability but does a tremendous job sniffing out the run plays. Looney finished second in the 20-yard shuttle along placing in the top 10 in five other tests at the combine.

He has a good shot as a depth guy in a deep defensive line room and can develop his skill traits under Pettine. I doubt he sees little to no playing time in 2018 even barring injury because of the depth that the Packers already have. Looney should be able to contribute to special teams in his rookie year.

Impact Level: Very Low
