1. Randall Cobb, Wide Receiver
2018 salary cap hit: $12,718,750
One of the most intriguing players on the Packers’ roster is Randall Cobb. He had a breakout season in 2014 (12 TDs, 91 rec, 1287 yds), which yielded a new four-year, $40 million contract the following offseason. At first glance, Cobb is compensated pretty fairly (18th highest average annual salary) relative to his peers. But with a cap hit of $12.7 million in 2018, he remains the second-highest-paid player on the Packers’ roster.
It’s not that Cobb isn’t a talented wide receiver. Like a few others on this list, his production just doesn’t match the compensation. Cobb will be the eighth-highest-paid receiver in 2018. He’ll be earning more than the likes of Doug Baldwin, Emmanuel Sanders, Golden Tate and his own teammate Davante Adams.

This season will be the last of Cobb’s four-year deal. With Jarvis Landry signing a lucrative contract with the Cleveland Browns last month (five-years, $75.5 million), it could mean the end of Cobb’s career as a Packer. The price for slot receivers is higher than ever before, which is a big reason Cobb is likely to walk away next offseason.
