4. Punting situation

The Packers have put themselves in a dicey situation at punter. After selecting JK Scott in the fifth round of the draft, it figured to set up a punting competition with holdover Justin Vogel.

However, we never even got close to that, as Justin Vogel was released on Friday and Green Bay appears to be set on entering the summer with only one punter. Even though it’s been reported Vogel requested his release, it’s an odd move by the Packers.

Going with a player who has yet to punt in an NFL game seems like a huge risk. Especially, with the lack of quality punting options the Packers have had over the last few seasons.

Green Bay needs to find out right away if Scott is their man or if they need to sign someone else for competition. If Scott isn’t the man they thought he was, Green Bay will look back on their decision to release Vogel with great regret.
