1. Orlando Arcia

Orlando Arcia has been the most disappointing Brewer through the first month-plus of the season. And it’s been because he’s struggled in both the field and at the plate.

Fielding was supposed to be his strong suit as he supports a great arm and good range. Unfortunately, he’s had a bunch of mental errors and has started off very slowly this season. His .961 fielding percentage ranks 23rd in the MLB among qualified shortstops. In other words, that’s the fifth-worst percentage.

After posting a .981 percent fielding percentage in limited action during his first season, this marks the third straight season it has declined.

His hitting has been just as bad. After collecting a .277 batting average last season, he’s down to .228 this year. Also, as someone who strikes out a lot (19 strikeouts compared to just four walks), his on-base percentage is also extremely low at .260.

He’s still extremely young at just 23-years-old and has plenty of time to turn it around. The best place for him to start is with his concentration. That will go a long way in allowing himself to use the natural talent he possesses.
