5. Domingo Santana

Domingo Santana entered the season as part of a crowded outfield, but has found himself receiving consistent playing time due to the plethora of injuries that have hit the Brewers in the early part of the season.

Last season, Santana displayed some explosive power, belting 30 home runs and driving in 85 runs in 151 games. This year has been a completely different story. Through 110 plate appearances, he has yet to hit a single dinger and has only driven in six RBIs. In fact, he only has three extra-base hits all season.

His batting average and on-base percentage are also down. They were .278 and .271 respectively in 2017 and currently sit at .247 and .327. His early-season slump is a major reason the Brewers have struggled to score consistent runs throughout the first month of the season.

There’s hope he can turn it around, as Santana was a very slow starter last season as well. After April, he was only hitting .197. Although, it’s worth mentioning he already had hit five home runs by that point. Hopefully, he can refind his power stroke as the weather begins to turn.
