Green Bay Packers: 20 best draft picks since the merger
5. Mark Brunell
Mark Brunell is similar to Hasselbeck in many ways. He was drafted by the Packers, but didn’t stay long before being traded away to another team, only to enjoy great successes with that franchise.
Brunell was picked in the fifth round of the 1993 draft and only spent one season in Green Bay. In 1995, he was promptly traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a third and fifth round pick. There, he was expected to lead a brand new franchise and he did just that.
Overall, he played nine seasons with the Jaguars and became one of the new faces of the franchise. In his career, he threw for over 32,000 yards and 184 touchdowns. Along the way, he also earned three trips to the Pro Bowl as well.
Brunell was one of the true gems of his generation and always played solid football. He was such an iron man he stayed in the NFL until 2011 when he retired at the ripe old age of 41.
