Milwaukee Bucks: 5 biggest needs for 2018 offseason
3. Scoring off the bench.
In the 2017-18 season, the Bucks ranked 27th in both bench minutes per game at 16.8 and points per game at 27.7. That’s a problem.
Through the course of the long 82-game season, there’s going to be times where the starters struggle or they need their bench unit to come in and spark them. Milwaukee gained that for the latter part of last season with the return of Parker, but it’s unclear if he’ll be back next season or if he’ll even be satisfied continuing in that role.
Regardless, Milwaukee needs to find a sparkplug they can bring in with the second unit and help energize the team. Shabazz Muhammad tried to play that role in the playoffs, but he’s way too shot happy. Brandon Jennings will be another year recovered from the achilles injury that sapped his athleticism so that might be an option, however unlikely.
But the most plausible scenario is it comes from someone outside the organization. Maybe, it’s even the same player who fills No. 4.
