Milwaukee Bucks: 2018 season grades
Brandon Jennings: C+
Brandon Jennings was another late-season acquisition for the Bucks, as he was initially signed to play on the G-League team, the Wisconsin Herd. After playing a few games there, he earned himself a couple of 10-day contracts before signing on for the rest of the year plus a non-guaranteed deal in 2018-19,
Jennings struggled somewhat on the court, averaging only 5.2 points and 3.1 assists in 14.6 minutes per game. While they were improvements over last year, it’s a still somewhat disappointing showing by a guy who once showed so much promise in his career.
The positive grade, however, doesn’t come from his play on the court. Instead, it comes from his leadership and swag he brought to the locker room. It may seem funny to hear Jennings name and leadership mentioned in the same sentence, but he really took that role seriously this season.
With the logjam at point guard, Jennings isn’t a lock to make the team next year. However, the leadership and poised he displayed in Milwaukee is something they’ll sorely need of Jason Terry retires.
