Green Bay Packers: Top 10 players in 2019 NFL Draft
5. Dexter Lawrence, Defensive Tackle, Clemson
Dexter Lawrence is a beast and this might be too low of a spot for him in our original rankings. At 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, he’s a monster inside and nearly impossible to move unless he’s the one doing the moving.
Last year was a down season for him, as he only recorded 33 tackles and two sacks. Those numbers are way down from his freshman campaign where he dominated to the tune of 62 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
A lot of that, however, was due to an increase in attention from offensive coordinators and constant double teams. In a perfect world, he’ll learn to fight through that and continue stuffing the run and rushing the passer at high clips similar to his first season at Clemson.
He could’ve gone into the draft this year, but decided to come back for a final season with Clemson. That move could pay big dividends.
