Green Bay Packers: Top 10 players in 2019 NFL Draft
1. Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Houston
How often do we see a defensive tackle rank at the top of his draft class? How often do we even see a player from the University of Houston ranked at all? Well, both of those are real possibilities given the talent Ed Oliver possesses.
Oliver is so good at what he does, he might be one of, if not THE best defensive lineman in the NFL next season.
He can do everything the coaches ask and excels at both stopping the run and getting after the quarterback. Last year, he recorded 73 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. That’s following a rookie campaign where he had 65 tackles, 22 for loss and five sacks.
Next: Packer fans should be excited about 2018 draft class
He’ll immediately reshape a whole defense and become the focal point of opposing offensive coordinators. He’s truly someone a team can build around on that side of the ball.
