Green Bay Packers: Pros and Cons of Joshua Jackson

With a need at corner, the Green Bay Packers dipped back into the secondary waters on Day Two of the NFL Draft, taking ballhawk Joshua Jackson out of Iowa. What does he bring to the table?

Coming out of Iowa, Joshua Jackson was seen as a first-round pick by almost all draft pundits leading up to the draft. Some of those projections had him going to the Green Bay Packers at pick 14.

That wasn’t the case, but he still ended up wearing green and gold, being selected with pick 45 on Friday evening, giving the Packers back to back corners for the second time in four years. In 2015, the Packers took Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins with their first two picks. Brian Gutekunst is hoping that his first two draft picks will have a better tenure in Green Bay than those two.

Looking at what Jackson can do, he brings the natural magnetism for the football to the frozen tundra as well as a Big Ten pedigree that has worked well for the Packers in the recent past. Combined with Kevin King and Jaire Alexander, Jackson is primed to bring a renaissance to the Packers cornerback room.
