Green Bay Packers NFL Draft 2018 day 2 big board
4. Will Hernandez, Guard, UTEP
Most people might not think of the offensive line as a major position of need for Green Bay, but they’d be wrong. Some could argue it’s up there behind the secondary going into the start of the draft.
Will Hernandez is surprisingly still on the board and is one of the best offensive guards in his class. He’s a historically great run blocker and can hold his own his pass protection as well. Even despite not being great in pass pro, his run blocking is so good he deserves to selected early on Day 2.
If the Packers draft Hernandez, they will no longer have issues converting on third and short as he can easily create the holes the running backs need to convert the short-yardage plays.
Insert Hernandez and the Packers won’t have to worry about their guard for the next 10-15 years.
