Green Bay Packers NFL Draft 2018 day 2 big board
1. Harold Landry, EDGE, Boston College
Harold Landry is the biggest surprise faller of the first round. Green Bay was rumored to like him with their first pick, yet, here he is still available.
It’s unlikely he last very long on Day 2 so Green Bay would likely have to move up to select him. If they do so, they’re getting a pass-rush specialist to add to the team. Landry recorded 16.5 sacks in 2016, but experienced injury issues last year which slowed his production way down. Is Green Bay really willing to take a chance on another oft-injured outside backer?
His natural position is as a 3-4 linebacker which is also a positive and should make his transition to the NFL a bit easier. That’s a good thing since he’s projected to take a while to adapt and might only see the field in certain passing downs next year.
