3. A Number Two Wide Receiver

Brian Gutekunst and the Packers parted ways with one of the best wide receivers to ever wear green and gold. Nelson will leave a huge void in the receiving core. No more deep threat and no more back shoulder fade.

Davante Adams will be asked to be the man. Adams will deliver, although it’s concerning with his concussion history.

Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison should be roster locks. Outside of that, it gets fuzzy. We know of Trevor Davis’s recent legal troubles. Michael Clark has about as much buzz as former Packer Jeff Janis carried with the fans.

The Packers definitely need to draft a wide receiver, if not several in this year’s NFL Draft.

D.J. Clark is a popular name from LSU. Clark didn’t enjoy playing with a premier quarterback, so his stats aren’t what they could have been at other schools. His 4.34 40 speed coupled with his vertical display at the Senior Bowl, make him a great threat to be the number two.

Equanimeous St. Brown is a huge target at six-foot-five. He also recorded a blistering 4.48 forty time. St. Brown could have a much higher value had DeShone Kizer returned to the University of Notre Dame for his senior season.

It will be interesting to see how many picks the Packers use at wide receiver and how early. Nothing would be surprising at this position.   The position needs speed and a route runner who can get open, more often than not.
