2. Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State (Previous: 3)

Denzel Ward is the top cover corner in this draft, hands down, and that’s exactly why he rises to No. 2.

There are some concerns about his size being he’s listed at 5-foot-10. That’s on the short side for an outside corner, especially one who will be asked to do a lot in coverage. However, he might create a nice duo with the taller, lengthier Kevin King on the other side and allow the Packers to pick and choose their matchups.

What Green Bay needs more than anything right now is exactly what Ward does best-preventing wide receivers from catching passes. It may sound like I’m oversimplifying things and that’s because I probably am. However, at the end of the day, regardless of size, speed or anything else, Ward has proven he can shut down a receiver better than anyone else eligible to be drafted in 2018.
