Round 7, No’s 232 and 239: Michael Joseph, CB, Dubuque and Ryan Izzo, TE, Florida State.

Again, the Packers decided to add another depth player in the secondary with Michael Joesph out of Dubuque.

Joeseph is a player from a small school that scouts don’t know much about or if his play will translate to the NFL. With three corners selected in this draft, not all of them will make it on the final roster. However, that’s the chance Brian Gutekunst took by waiting until the third to draft his first corner.

With his last pick, he decided to select a tight end since the Packers are a player short on that unit.

Ryan Izzo out of Florida State is a tough, inside player who will work for his money. He should be a decent run-blocker in the NFL and will compliment new acquisition, Jimmy Graham, very nicely. If he makes the roster, don’t get used to hearing his name called, but he might be a staple in certain goalline packages.
