Round 6, No’s 186 and 207: JK Scott, P, Alabama and Chris Campbell, CB, Penn State

Not a punter! I did warn you this was a worst-case scenario mock draft.

Justin Vogel’s net average of 41.6 (seventh in the NFL) may have looked impressive but a lot of that was due to the excellent coverage of his unit (bye, bye Jeff Janis). His average yards per punt tells a fuller story at 44.4 which was 23rd in the NFL last season.

JK Scott was a four-year starter at Alabama and has a long career ahead of him in the NFL. He should be able to push Vogel for his roster spot right away and will create a nice competition through the summer.

Since the Packers waited until the third round to draft a corner, they grabbed another one at the end of the sixth round in Penn State’s Chris Campbell.

Cambell is listed as 6-foot-1 which gives him a nice length advantage over other corners and a much different player than Stewart. He is still very raw and needs a lot of work on his technique, but might be able to turn into a decent backup if everything goes right.
