1. Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama

Minkah Fitzpatrick represents the best case scenario for the Packers in the first round. Although he’s unlikely to fall to them at No. 14, he’d be an immediate game-changer if he did.

Fitzpatrick is like a rich man’s version of Micah Hyde meaning he can play a little safety, a little slot-corner and maybe even a little outside corner which is where Pro Football Focus projects his best position to be. He’ll have somewhat of a transition to make in the NFL considering he played mostly safety at Alabama, but he has all the tools to do so.

Fitzpatrick will allow new defensive coordinate Mike Pettine to have great flexibility in his secondary with guys like Josh Jones and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Moving them around from position to position would create a unique advantage for the Packers.

He’d be the best addition the Packers can get and the instant game-changer they desperately need in their secondary. Drafting him on Thursday would make their whole draft a positive one, no matter what they do with the rest of their picks.
