Wisconsin Football: Which Badgers are entering the 2018 NFL Draft?
2. Leon Jacobs, OLB
Leon Jacobs represents another pretty big jump up in draft prospects on this list. NFL.com gives him a grade of 5.51 which means he has a chance to become a starter one day.
Jacobs was super impressive at the combine, running a 4.48 40-yard dash, completing 26 reps on the bench press and posting a 34.5-inch vertical jump. Those testing numbers jump off the page and prove he has the potential to be something special at the next level.
However, he appears to be a bit of a project until he can put all of his skills together. Until then, he’ll have to be patient and continue to learn the nuances of being a 3-4 linebacker and all the responsibilities that come with it. That is, assuming he’ll be drafted to a team who employs that scheme.
At Wisconsin, Jacobs wasn’t always able to flash his skills finishing with only 6.5 sacks in his career. However, if he can earn himself a full-time opportunity in the NFL, watch out!
