1. Nick Nelson, CB

Nick Nelson is the cream of Wisconsin’s crop when it comes to draft prospects. Unfortunately, he hurt his meniscus during a private team workout and has been unable to fully participate in this process.

Hopefully, the injury doesn’t hurt his draft stock too much and he still goes in the 4-5 round range NFL.com initially predicted.

At 5-foot-11 and running a 4.52 40, he’s not as tall nor as fast as scouts would like, but he’s serviceable enough in both areas. But he competes with the best of them and has pretty good technique to make up for the lack of athletic traits.

Nelson had defended 41 passes throughout his career at Hawaii and Wisconsin, with 21 of them coming last year. That’s very good. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any interceptions on his resume which makes folk wonder about his ball skills.

Next: Jake Ferguson is the next great Badgers' tight end

If scouts can work past that issue as well as his injury, he might be the first Badger off the board.
