Green Bay Packers 2018 Schedule: 5 overreactions
2. My team will have the best NFL record.
This is, by far, my favorite overreaction we’ll see. All the fans and blog boys will be predicting the Packers to go 13-3 or 12-3 ‘at worst.’ Without fail, every single season people have the best hopes for the Packers and don’t see a way, barring a catastrophe, they fail to win double-digit games.
Optimism isn’t a bad thing necessarily as long as it’s taken in context. A wise man once said: ‘A pessimist looks down and bumps his head. An optimist looks up and loses his footing. But a realist looks forward and adjusts his path accordingly.” Shoot, that was way deeper than I was intending to go.
Anyway, this poll is a perfect example. Does this dude really think the Packers, with their flawed roster, are more likely to go 14-2 than 10-6? I love the Pack just as much as the next guy, but we need to be real here.
Keep this in mind while reading through all the predictions on blogs, Twitter and websites alike.
