2. Colby Gossett, G, Appalachian State

Colby Gossett played tackle at Appalachian State, but will be switched to guard at the NFL level. Right now, he’s projected to go in rounds 5-6 and he’d be an absolute steal in the sixth round if the Packers want to grab him then.

Gossett graded out very well in PFF’s scheme the last two years and is the ninth-ranked guard on their list with a grade of 80.6. He’s another player who took a step back in 2017, but that can easily be fixed with some better coaching at the next level.

His pass protection is top-notch and is a huge plus to his game. In 1,313 career snaps, he only allowed 36 pressures and four sacks in the last two years combined.

His experience at right tackle also serves him well in case teams need to use him in a pinch. This is especially helpful when making roster decisions if you have a player who can play across the line.

He has a propensity for making difficult blocks look easy, but if he wants to become a full-time player, he’ll have to make the easy blocks look easy. If he can even that out, he’d be a steal in the sixth round.
