Milwaukee Bucks: 5 lineups to use against the Boston Celtics
2. Bledsoe, Brogdon, Snell, Middleton and Antetokounmpo.
This is the grouping Milwaukee went to down the stretch of the fourth quarter and overtime in Game 1 and don’t be surprised to see it much, much earlier on Tuesday night.
Bledsoe and Brogdon provide dual ball-handlers in the backcourt that can make plays for their teammates and defend the opposing team’s guards. Brogdon struggled a bit with Jaylen Brown and needs to figure out a way to combat Brown’s size advantage.
Snell bumps up and defends Tatum and he should be okay with that matchup.
Middleton might have the most difficult adjustment, as he’d be matched up with Marcus Morris in this situation. Morris was a big reason the Celtics bullied the Bucks on the glass and Middleton can’t stand around watching after the shot goes up.
Antetokounmpo also needs to step up his post game. Al Horford dominated and clearly attacked him anytime he got him on the block down low. Horford isn’t going to suddenly back away from that matchup and Antetokounmpo needs to step his game up.
Rebounding will be the biggest factor with the group. They grabbed only 37.5 percent of available rebounds in Game 1 and need to improve that number greatly in order to get the stops they need. The Bucks can’t afford to give up 22 second-chance points and hope to win this series.
