10. Marcus Davenport, DE, Texas-San Antonio

Marcus Davenport is a name many Packer fans have become familiar with over the past couple of weeks and is a very likely candidate to be drafted by Green Bay. Don’t take it as a knock on him that he only comes in at No. 10, there are just a lot of other more talented players ahead of him.

Davenport played at a smaller college which hurts him a bit in the drafting process. However, he’s still received some pretty high marks as NFL.com has his prospect grade at 5.99 which means he has a chance to become an NFL starter.

McShay only gives him a grade of 89 and is in his tier 4 which means he’s a future NFL starter and carries good value in the second round. And Kiper Jr. himself predicted Davenport will be taken by the Packers at 14 in his latest mock draft and has done so in his last couple.

If the Packers do select Davenport they have the players to be patient with him and allow him to adjust to the speed and physicality of the NFL. Bringing him along slowly may do wonders for him in the long term and allow him to reach his full potential.
