Green Bay Packers: Big board for 2018 NFL Draft

5. Harold Landry, OLB, Boston College

Harold Landry is another fan favorite and a name many are hoping to be called on April 26.

He may be listed as an outside linebacker, but edge rusher is probably more accurate, as that was his primary role in Boston College. If he’s truly going to transition to a 3-4 outside backer, he’ll have a lot of work ahead of him in the coverage game.

However, his pass rushing is what truly stands out. He recorded 16.5 sacks in 2016, before only tallying a disappointing five last season. Part of that was due to injuries as he missed time thanks to an ankle injury.

NFL.com has him graded at a 6.15 meaning he should become an instant starter in the NFL. Pro Football Focus also has high marks for him, ranking Landry as their top edge defender in this year’s class (ahead of Chubb).

Add Landry to a rotation that already includes Nick Perry and Clay Matthews Jr. could form a nice threesome and force opposing teams to gameplan around them every week.
