1. Dalton Schultz, TE, Stanford

Dalton Schultz is a tight end the Packers should keep on radar. He is projected to go anywhere from rounds 3-4 so he would have to be an early sleeper for the green and yellow.

Schultz comes in at 6-foot-6, 242 pounds. He has the potential to grow into his body and become identical to that of possible teammate Graham. That could have the makings of a deadly one-two tight end combination for the Packers. What’s even better is how often the Packers like to use two tight end sets.

Schultz comes out of Stanford which has become a tight end powerhouse over the years. Knowing the words of head coach David Shaw makes Schultz even more of a must-have for the Packers. Shaw said Schultz is “the most “complete” tight end the team has had in recent years, as his height and hands make him a nice target over the middle, and he’s growing into a solid in-line blocker.”

That is very, very promising to say the least.

Although he isn’t necessarily a “catch first” type, Schultz can still hold his own in the passing game. Besides, with a quarterback like Rodgers, his ceiling would be insane.

What has scouts so excited is his blocking ability.

They have pointed out how tenacious and fundamentally sound he is as a blocker. Blocking well is not a trait that comes easy to tight ends. The fact he already has that area knocked down makes him much easier for NFL coaches to work with.
