5. Dorance Armstrong J, DE/OLB, Kansas

Dorance Armstrong Jr. has been rising up many draft boards as of late. The 6-foot-3, 257-pound edge rusher out of the University of Kansas is expected to go as early as round four where the Packers own two picks.

Armstrong is explosive coming off the edge while also being fluent with his movements. He recorded 15.5 career sacks in his three year college career, including 10 in his sophomore season. Armstrong also found his way into the backfield a lot as he had 34.5 career tackles for loss.

Although his sack and tackle for loss totals dropped for him last season, Armstrong still has the tools to make for a late round steal. The biggest thing scouts may drool over is is experience rushing standing up or in a three-point stance. This makes him very flexible once he hits the pro level.

However, moving forward his frame may not suite him to play with a hand on the ground. He may have to get used to playing as a stand-up pass rusher to prolong his career. With that, he can’t always rely on his athleticism, especially against tenured pros. Technique will get him a long way as a rookie if he sticks to it.
