4. Zach Baun

Coming into the beginning of Spring practices, the Badgers’ coaching staff was expecting a lot out of outside linebacker Zach Baun, as he was going to have a chance to fill one of the starting spots.

He missed all of the 2017 season thanks to a broken left foot he suffered in late-August and unfortunately it appears he’s re-injured the same foot.

On Monday, April 9, he went down during a drill and limped back to the locker room and didn’t return as a participant to the practice field. Unfortunately, he returned wearing a protective boot on that same left foot.

At Tuesday’s practice, it was also reported he was again wearing the protective boot and Wisconsin is waiting for the results of an MRI that was taken.

If he is forced to miss a significant amount of time in the offseason, it could cost him another chance at a starting position as an outside linebacker. In a worst-case scenario, it could even cost him part or all of his 2018 season-an absolute disaster for the Badgers and Baun.

Let’s keep an eye on his status and see if he’s able to make a miraculous recovery.
