2. Vita Vea, Dt, Washington

Vita Vea, or should I say Tevita Tuliakiono Tuipuloto Mosese Va’hae Faletau Vea, has reportedly already met with the Packers in the pre-draft process and appears to be a big target on their radar.

That’s an unusual prospect for the Packers to consider at the No. 14 pick given they already have Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark and the new arrival, Wilkerson, on their roster. And given that they hardly play three defensive linemen at the same time (although that could change under the new defensive coordinator), having four potential studs up front seems redundant.

Also, Vea may be a bit overhyped, as Pro Football Focus has him as the 22nd ranked prospect on their Big Board which is certainly not a reach I’d want Gutekunst to make.

Aside from the depth at the position, Vea had a very on and off season at Washington. He’s a great pass rusher and can disrupt the run, but doesn’t always finish the play with the tackle. Also, his effort was inconsistent and he didn’t play as many snaps as you’d expect from a stud d-lineman.

Overall, there are too many question marks surrounding his play for the Packers to warrant using their pick on him.
