Green Bay Packers: 5 players they should consider with their first pick
The Green Bay Packers will have plenty of options with the 14th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but here are the top five players they should consider.
With the 2018 NFL Draft fast approaching and set to begin on April 27, the Green Bay Packers have a lot riding on their 14th overall pick. Their weak roster was exploited last season after Aaron Rodgers went down with a collarbone injury and their games became way too painful to watch.
Their obvious need is on the defensive side of the ball where they need certainly need to shore up their secondary. Their biggest divisional challenge this season will be the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota has amped up their passing game big time with the free agent addition of quarterback Kirk Cousins. If the Packers want any chance of competing against the reigning division champs, they must address their secondary in a big way.
The most obvious way to do that would be to select a cornerback with their first pick in the first round, but that might be a natural fit that doesn’t include a player slipping a few spots or the Packers reaching for need over talent.
Regardless of whether or not the Pack takes a corner, they will almost certainly have to address the defensive side of the ball where they still have a bunch of question marks.
We’re officially in NFL draft season, and as we get closer and closer to the actual draft itself, Dairyland Express will be ramping up our draft coverage. To begin with, let’s take a look at five players the Packers should target with their fourteenth overall pick.
