3. One of the outfielders is traded

Let’s list all of the Major League caliber outfielders Milwaukee has on their 40-man roster (you might want to sit down, this will take a while):

Braun

Lorenzo Cain

Christian Yelich

Domingo Santana

Hernan Perez

Keon Broxton

Brett Phillips

The first five listed all made the Opening Day roster, but Broxton and Phillips were optioned to Triple A even though they would vie for starting spots on a number of ball clubs.

As the season wears on, the Brewers will unquestionably look to move one of these outfielders, especially considering their need in the pitching department. With a roster as unbalances as theirs, a trade like this only makes sense.

If they keep all seven of the outfielders for some unwise reason, there’s no way they would make it through the year without any dugout issues popping up. These are guys who not only want to play at the top level, but start every single night. And as of now, someone’s not going to be happy when they don’t see their name written in the starting lineup on a daily basis.
