The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to build upon their 2017 success by starting off 2018 on the right foot. Here are 5 predictions for the upcoming year.

Beginning on Thursday, Mar. 29, the Milwaukee Brewers will look to build on their surprisingly successful 2017 campaign that saw them finish 86-76 by starting their 2018 season at the San Diego Padres.

With Jimmy Nelson still recovering from shoulder surgery, Chase Anderson will be tasked with becoming the Brewers’ opening day starter- their fifth different one in five years.

Last season, Anderson went 12-4 with a 2.74 ERA for Milwaukee, and the hope will be he can last longer than last year’s opening day starter Junior Guerra who pitched only three innings before leaving with a calf strain and didn’t return to the rotation until a month-and-a-half later.

Anderson appears to be prepared mentally for his first start of the season, having said this about the game’s opening day:

"I prepare like it’s another game. It’s more heightened for baseball fans. I’m just going to go out there and try and set the tone for our team and get us a win."

Let’s hope the Brewers can start the season off with a victory, as a great start could go a long way to set the tone for the year ahead.

However, until then, let’s take a look at five bold predictions for the upcoming Milwaukee Brewers’ season:
