2B. Corner

Why they need help here: Departure of Sam Shields, inconsistent play

The Packers let Sam Shields walk this offseason, and added Davon House back from Jacksonville. Rollins, Randall, and Gunter all had their struggles last year, and this unit lacks a clear number one corner.

Randall looked like he could be a number one, but took a huge step back last year. With the lack of a clear number one, Gunter found himself on the opposing team’s best wide out, and I don’t think Packer fans want to see that again this season.

However, there is a good chance Randall and Rollins could take a step forward, and be solid corners again. Even if that happens, the Packers need another corner in round one or two for sure.

Its’ a deep draft at corner and the Packers can find good value in the second round if they choose to go another route with their first pick

The Packers are relatively short at corner and would be smart to target a taller Corner to play next to 5’11 Randall and Rollins. Quincy Wilson from Florida comes in at 6’1 and could step in and be the Packers second biggest corner.

It would also be awesome to see the Packers take a shot at injured Washington corner Sidney Jones. Jones was one of the top corner prospects before he tore his Achilles at his pro day. It’s a tough break for him, but it gives a team like the Packers to steal him later in the second or third round.

Jones should be back by September, so his injury shouldn’t completely scare the Packers away.

What they need: A first or second round corner, along with a day three steal
