Why they need help here: Departure of TJ Lang and JC Tretter

The Packers offensive line got picked apart in free agency. Both Tretter and Lang left as free agents, and honestly, the Packers don’t have replacements for either.

There’s no startable option at guard, and Tretter gave them great depth. Because of this, the Packers need to target a guard in the First round. Should Forrest Lamp fall to 29, Ted Thompson needs to scoop him up.

Lamp could step in and start right away, and keep Rodgers upright. If Lamp is gone, Thompson still needs to target a guard in the first few rounds. Keeping Rodgers healthy and protected is the Packers biggest priority.

Besides a starting guard, the Pack could use some extra depth. Corey Linsley has had trouble staying healthy, and having a viable backup at center is huge. Without Tretter, the Packers don’t have any depth at the center position, or even at guard, as Tretter played there too.

Ted Thompson has had good luck finding solid linemen in the later rounds, so he could easily find a backup in the fourth-fifth round area.

What they need: A first or second-day guard, along with another later interior lineman.
