Milwaukee Bucks: League Wide Trade Options- Atlanta To Detroit
By Joe Kiemen
The Charlotte Hornets are currently battling it out for the Eastern Conference 8th seed. Generally, teams in a similar situation don’t make trades, but possibilities remain.
Off The Table
- Kemba Walker- Trading their leading scorer and franchise cornerstone would be extremely unpopular among fans. Walker’s presence on the Bucks would only take away shots from Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and Parker.
- Nicholas Batum- A deal would never take place due to Batum’s huge contract. The Bucks would be handicapping themselves for free agency by adding Batum.
Possibilities
- Frank Kaminsky- The Bucks could choose to bring Kaminsky back to Wisconsin by offering Greg Monroe and a 2nd round pick. Like Monroe, Kaminsky is an offensive minded center but with the ability to stretch the floor. This move would benefit the Bucks by adding a cheaper player with additional years of control.
- Marvin William- If the Bucks recover from their recent slump and push back into the discussion for seeds 5-7, adding Williams and his expiring contract would allow the team to play big with Antetokounmpo, Monroe and Williams on the court at the same time. His 37% 3-point shooting percentage would help space the floor while also adding rebounding. If the Hornets fall out of contention, the Hornets might be willing to accept a 2nd round pick in return.
Best Case Scenario
The Bucks trade Greg Monroe and a 2nd round pick for Frank Kaminsky. Milwaukee would have affordable control over the former Badger for three more seasons. This would allow them to shore up other areas in free-agency.
