Entering the second season of their rebuild, the Milwaukee Brewers have a few areas of improvement to focus on in 2017.

It’s time once again to figure out how to better ourselves for the following year, and it’s no different with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Typically, with a transition in the front office, on-field philosophies and points of emphasis shift. You’ll often see this in the type of players that are brought to the club.

At the same time, Brewers’ GM David Stearns is simply trying to collect as much talent as possible. This can create unique statistical data that doesn’t necessarily represent where the franchise is headed.

Because this is a process that involves young athletes, a mix of varied skills, and guys moving in and out of the organization, some stats are more outliers than trends.

With all that in mind, the 2016 Brewers had some areas that clearly need addressing. While their 73-89 record was a positive at this stage, some minor progress in a handful of stats would go a long way.

That sets up the four New Year’s resolutions for the 2017 Milwaukee Brewers: two pitching and two on offense.
