After a 31-point outburst in the first half two weeks ago, the Packers could put many minds at ease with another strong showing against a vulnerable Giants defense.

In Green Bay’s 34-27 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 3, the Packers offense was phenomenal in the opening two quarters. They looked like the team everyone expected.

One would think McCarthy and Rodgers will take what worked against the Lions and simply fine tune some of the offensive game plan for the Giants.

He (Lacy) ran for 103 yards on 17 carries in the last game, showing a bit more burst as well.

With a quick-passing game and a focus on the middle of the field, Rodgers was back to his old self. As most are probably aware, it was his first game with a passer rating over 100 in the last 15 games.

His 205 yards was still alarmingly low, but most of those came in the first two quarters (along with four touchdowns), so you need to take the overall number with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, Eddie Lacy has been strong overall. He ran for 103 yards on 17 carries in the last game, showing a bit more burst as well. Lacy is averaging five yards per run this season.

As noted, the Giants’ defense has done a quality job against the run, so Lacy might not have a great day Sunday. However, it’s important he still gets at least 15 carries to get him going and keep the defense honest.

Could Rodgers reach the magical 300 number this week? It’s entirely possible. I’d bet on 275 yards and a few touchdowns. It doesn’t guarantee a win, but the Packers would like their chances.
